Family law

Separation and divorce are personal turning points with far-reaching legal and financial consequences. We advise you with clarity and discretion – and with a view to a lasting solution.

What matters

The separation year

A divorce generally requires the spouses to have lived apart for at least one year. Questions of maintenance, the home and assets already arise during this period.

Maintenance

Child maintenance is based on the Düsseldorf Table. Spousal maintenance depends on income, need and the circumstances of the marriage.

Accrued gains and pension rights adjustment

Under the statutory matrimonial property regime, the increase in assets during the marriage is equalised. Pension entitlements are divided in the pension rights adjustment.

Focusing on the children

Custody and contact are governed by the best interests of the child. Amicable arrangements are usually the best way forward for everyone involved.
